Review | Ardell Demi Wispies

Lets talk about lashes. I'm sure most of you lovelies may not need to use falsies but for those of you that do then have you tried these beauties? I am sure most of you have either heard of or tried some of Ardell's products - I mean who hasn't heard the hype around them!  Ardell are most commonly known for their amazing range of eyelashes and most famously for the Demi Wispies and Wispies. For years Ive watched beauty guru's speak about them and always lusted over them.

Ardell Demi Wispies in action
The Ardell Demi Wispies are great, lightweight lashes for everyday wear with simple, winged eyeliner or for a dramatic makeup look for nights out. A few years ago I religiously had eyelash extensions and unfortunately they left my eyelashes short, stumpy and sadly I ended up with bald patches. I resorted in wearing false eyelashes everyday as I could no longer apply mascara and searched endlessly for a pair that were long and yet natural looking. Luckily I found a website that sold Ardell lashes and I haven't looked back since. I always purchase my eyelashes in the multipack as I find it works out a LOT cheaper at £11.99 for a pack of 4, the best website I have found for purchasing them is falseeyelashes.

The thing I love about these eyelashes are that they actually look like clusters of individual lashes. They are attached to a clear band which makes the lashes look much more natural on the eye. The clusters of lashes vary in length in order to make them look more wispy and fluttery.  They start with a shorter length at the inner corner and gain length towards the outer, I feel this helps give the eye more definition.

I wear these lashes every day and I'm so used to wearing them now that I don't even notice I have them on. I highly recommend them for how light weight and versatile these lashes are.
I have found for best fit I cut them down into 4 pieces. I find this the easiest way to apply them but they fit my eye perfectly so Its not essential.
As with any lashes you can get a number of wears out of them depending on how you take care of them. I get multiple uses out of mine and they still look good as new! The lash glue that I use is the Eyelure Lashfix False Lash Adhesive in Black which can also be purchased from falseeyelashes
Falseeyelashes often have codes for 10% off so keep an eye out for those and the site offers free delivery on ALL purchases - who doesn't love free delivery?

I can honestly say that these are the best lashes I have ever owned, and I have owned a few!

Review | YSL Black Opium

I will hold my hands up and admit that I have never tried a perfume from Yves Saint Laurent or even own any makeup bits from them but after hearing how hyped up YSL's Black Opium was at the end of last year, I knew I had to give it a try. Black Opium Eau de Parfum is a very seductive, sexy and glamorous fragrance which I fell in love with as soon as I tried it on. I was lucky enough to be have received this as a Christmas present from my partner and Its safe to say Its had a few months of testing.

YSL Black Opium EDP is a rich and deep floral fragrance with notes of black coffee (although I don't feel it smells of coffee at all), white florals and vanilla. The coffee notes are supposed to acts as a rich shot of wake me up for your senses, whilst the floral notes of Jasmine instantly give you the feeling of seduction. I feel like the warm vanilla notes in this fragrance adds some sweetness and lightness to this complex perfume. I would recommend this fragrance for evenings out and Ive tested it for date nights and Its always complemented on and makes me feel that little bit more seductive.

Packaging

Can we just take a minute to admire the glamorous packaging? Have you ever seen a bottle that's been oh so sparkly and a little bit rock chic. The bottle itself is a black luxurious textured sparkle with a clear circle in the middle show casing the fragrance and amount of product left. I love the way that they have branded the bottle centrally and yet it doesn't take away from the overall glamorous feel.

Longevity

Its known that EDP's generally tend to last much longer on the skin in comparison to EDT's and I completely agree. Even after working for 8 hours, I found this scent still lingers on my skin which just shows how amazing the longevity of this product is. Perfect for girls nights out, romantic date nights or just for a confidence pick me up on a working day.

This is definitely one of my go to fragrances in the cooler months and although I'm packing it away for spring and summer It will still be reached for on date nights! I would definitely recommend you pick this one up or at least go give it a sniff. This fragrance ranges in price from £44-£86 however you can purchase it from the BeautySpin website at the moment from as little as £45.78 for the 30ml.

Dear 15 year old me...

Dear me,

Let's start by saying it's okay to be yourself, so breathe. You're 22 and still finding your way in life, I promise you will have glimpses of pure blissful happiness. You will go through a terrible, heartbreaking event in your life but I promise you make it through to the other side, I promise you the pieces of you will be glued back together. You meet a man in your future and he is all that you could ever dream of.

Promise to always be yourself, even if it means you are alone at some points. You don't need a Jane Norman carrier bag for your PE kit or NewLook 'school trousers' just to fit in with everyone else. You don't need to hide from the 'popular kids' at school, in this day they really haven't come too far.
Take more photos, you love filling your house with memories. You will continue to meet random people at 22. Love your face and how fresh faced you look without make-up. Embrace your looks, you've always been ashamed of the way your eyes look but don't be any more as it makes you look like your mother more and more everyday. When you're older taking pictures of yourself is referred to as taking a selfie and Its totally acceptable. There is no need for blunt highlights in your hair so stop trying to make it cool, its still not cool.

Do not get hung up on the critical and nasty words that people throw at you, you can rise above it all. Your weight changes drastically throughout the years but remember you can still rock skinny jeans even when you're bigger.

You own a house and a cat and you are blissfully happy. The world is your oyster little one, keep shooting for the stars because even if you fall you'll still land amongst the stars.

So, keep smiling beautiful, you are wonderful just as you are.

Topic 3: Pets

Topic: Pets

Say hello to my handsome boy, Tiggy!

Tiggy is 9months old, he enjoys taking all the room on the sofa, often likes to jump in the bath after the showers finished and his favourite thing is to play with the toilet rolls. He is a very spoilt boy, my mum adores him and often facetimes me just to see him! My dad's never been a fan of animals, so when we said we were getting a cat he almost fell off his chair. Luckily, my dad quickly began to adore Tiggy. When dad is around Tiggy is often found on his lap and dad secretly enjoys the attention. Ive never had a cat before, and truth be told I had to be persuaded by the other half. Now that we have Tiggy though, I cant picture not having him, he completes our little family for now and will continue to even when we expand.

Topic 2: Jobs

What did you want to be when you were growing up? Even now, what is your dream job?

Over the years my passions and dreams have changed and with that my jobs have also changed from business to front of house. Today as it stands I work in a secondary school as a Sign Language Assistant. In other words I work with deaf children and communicate with them the lesson through British Sign Language. I started working there two years ago and from then my love for sign language grew and I knew I wanted to take this as far as I could. But somewhere along the way I've lost my heart and passion for it. However, in a twist of events it has shown me what I truely believe I want to do now,  teaching. Im focusing on my future and taking the steps needed to become a primary school teacher. I know the journey will be long and I will not achieve my dreams for many years but I am determined and full of love for helping children learn.

So now its your turn, I'm excited to hear from you. Have you reached your dream job already? Why dont you have a little go of sign language?

Topic 1: Significant Other

I thought this would be a nice topic to ease our way into the new weekly feature. Plus its not every day my lovely other half will appear on my blog. So this is his few minutes of 'fame'.

How many of you have a boyfriend/girlfriend? How many of you are married or engaged? How many of you are living with your significant other?

Let me introduce you to Aaron:

We have been together now for 4years and live in our own little home together. I feel very lucky and blessed to have him in my life, despite it all he has been the one to keep me grounded, pick me up when I've hit rock bottom and held my hand on all the twists that life has dealt me. I value all that he does for me and know that, this man, will be my husband one day.

How we met: We met online through a social networking site. As much as I would like to deny it, It was myself who approached Aaron (oops!) I honestly just thought he was handsome and looking through his pictures he seemed fun. So i took the plunge and messaged him, the rest is history.

Our first date: Truth be told, I cannot really remember our first date (sorry Aaron!) but we both remember the day we met clearly. On a summers day in July, Aaron arranged to come over and hang out. We went for a walk to a local playing field and spent the afternoon chatting, listening to music on our phones and having a grass fight. Simple, easy and comfortable.

Date nights: I am a firm believer in romance and even though we live together, date night is still a weekly occurrence. It doesn't always mean spending money and going out, sometimes its simply running me a bath, watching a film or playing board games.

So, tell me about your other half? Do they have any quirks that you adore? Do you have a funny story about how you met? I want to hear it all....
